After the above photo, our group said goodbye to our friends in Tostamaa and boarded the bus for our drive back to Tallinn. We had a bit of free time once back in the city. There were mad dashes to the yarn shop for replacement needles (we were warned that the Tallinn airport security would not let us take anything but wooden or bamboo needles onto the plane with us). Also, as we were back at Hotel Schlossle, our same comfy rooms awaited us, including the nightly turn down with chocolate on our pillow.

Our final, celebratory dinner was wonderful, both food-wise and in conversation. Then most everyone retured to their rooms to pack and prepare for the next day’s departure. A large chunk of our group was set to leave the hotel at 3 am. Yikes! By the time I woke up and went down to enjoy Schlossle’s lovely breakfast offerings, most of the group was gone. Six of us gathered for our late morning taxi rides to the airport. We were mostly on the same flight from Tallinn to Frankfurt. It’s a short hop — just a couple of hours. And once there, our little band of knitters hugged each other goodbye. We came in at Terminal A, as was my next flight. Three folks discovered they had to make their way to Terminal Z. Who’s ever heard of a Terminal Z?!?!? They must have done just fine though because later reports revealed all made it home without delays, misses or weather problems. Hooray!

Having said my goodbyes, I headed onward — this time on my own — to Spain. In anticipation of Barcelona’s reputation for pickpockets, I was all locked down and secured with carabiners from the moment I landed.

You’ve already seen my landing at the hotel in Barcelona. So before I start relaying adventures in a new country, I’ll wrap up my time in Estonia with a collection of favorite images. It was truly a lovely tour, infused with friendly company, lots of interesting learning and of course, amazing food. I hope the trip is offered again and again.

Boarding outside! Haven’t seen that in ages.
