Hey, all. Technology is a wonderful , right? It allows me to write from my phone (thumb typing, yay!), add in pictures, and then send out to all of you. But I am utterly dependent on it to do this communication thing. Add in a dose of “I’d like to take a night off” and a full day’s running around (left the hotel room at 7:30 am, didn’t return until 11 pm) and then no decent wifi and we find ourselves here: three solid days of trip to tell you about and no way to do it.
This morning we are at a small hotel in John O’Groats, the most northern point of the Scottish mainland. The wifi is intermittent and hasn’t much bandwidth. I tried to wrote last night and lost an hour’s writing before I realized the internet connection wasn’t up to the task. I was barely able to upload a few photos to social media.
Oh my. This all points to hours of writing ahead of me while simultaneously keeping up with Heather’s whirlwind scouting schedule. A bit intimidating. But I will try.
I wouldn’t want to skip it all, mysteriously referencing the time as The Lost Days in the Orkney Islands…
I think not!
I will hopefully have some down time this evening, perhaps tomorrow – but certainly by Saturday, in which to catch you up. In the meantime, back to your regularly-scheduled evening news, Netflix series and the like.
More soon, time and wifi willing.
